Blessed indeed

Mum was hospitalised last Sat due to lung infection which caused her asthma to relapse. The whole Sat I was at the hospital with her. All the original plans for coaching DS had to be adjusted. Luckily DS had classes in the morning, so the adjustment wasn't that big. Upon reaching home in the evening, I managed to squeeze out 1.5 hrs to prepare him for his English oral this week.

For the next few days, I juggled between visiting my mum in the hospital, housework and coaching DS. It was challenging, but not unmanageable. You really can't afford to lose too much time in times like this. By the end of the day, I am usually exhausted and needed a good night sleep to recharge for the next day.

Mum was discharged on Tue. The decision was made known to me last minute when I visited her in the morning. In order not to "trouble" me, she had originally wanted to go home herself. I was relieved I actually visited her that morning. I quickly made arrangements to fetch the three kids from school. I am indeed blessed to have friends' and relatives' support in times like this. My close cousin, K, helped me fetched my two girls from school, brought them to the hospital and sent my mum and us home. Another friend, C, helped me fetch DS, cooked a sumptuous meal for him and even supervised him to finish his homework.

What more can I ask for when life is full of blessings? I am thankful. Thankful that mum is getting better and still with us though her asthma has been a long term worry. Thankful for the support K and C rendered without hesitation. Thankful for all the wonderful people I've met in my life, including some of my cyber friends. And thankful for all the readers of my blogs for listening to my nonsense at times. :)
